North Hollywood, CA. Southern California Health Institute has released a video of its students and staff performing a massage-themed Harlem Shake. The massage video, released March 22, can be found on YouTube.
The Harlem Shake is an Internet video phenomenon where a group of people perform a comical dance to a part of American DJ and producer Baauer's song "Harlem Shake."
A Harlem Shake video usually starts with one person wearing a mask or helmet dancing solo to the beginning of the song while surrounded by a group of people who appear oblivious to the individual who is dancing. When the bass drops, the video cuts to the same group of people dancing spastically while wearing crazy costumes and swinging props.
Wikipedia states that Internet phenomenon began Feb. 2, 2013, when five teenagers from Queensland, Australia, known on YouTube as The Sunny Coast Skate, uploaded their own version of a video by YouTube comedy vlogger Filthy Frank, where several costumed people danced to the song "Harlem Shake" by Baauer. The video quickly went viral.
Other notable versions of the Harlem Shake have been performed by the Miami Heat, WWE Wrestlers and on Saturday Night Live and the Simpsons television programs.
