OAKBROOK TERRACE, Illinois (July 21, 2009) - The National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB) announced today the release of its new online practice exam, developed to help schools prepare students for success on the National Certification Examination (NCE).
The new preparatory exam simulates the actual NCE experience, helping to reduce test-taking anxiety by familiarizing students with computer-based testing. It allows them to acquaint themselves with the format, terminology and types of questions they can expect when taking the NCE. Also, it serves as an additional learning opportunity by providing explanations for both correct and incorrect answers. The test is timed, like the NCE, and can be taken up to three times for a single $20 fee.
"NCBTMB has been recognized as the profession's leader in exam programs since its inception 17 years ago," said Chair Neal Delaporta. "We are continuing in that tradition by striving to provide the best test prep tools on the market. The new practice exam and updated study guide are the perfect 2-point preparation system for students and schools intent on increasing test scores and pass rates."
Massage students scored extremely well in beta testing, and the practice exam is now ready for use across the country.
NCBTMB recommends partnering the online practice exam with its newly revised study guide. The study guide helps prepare candidates for the NCE by sharpening their study skills and providing sample questions and answers. The guide, reduced in price to $29.95, includes the types of questions to expect on the exam, tips for what to do before, during and after the exam, and proven test-taking strategies.
Massage schools can receive quantity discounts when purchasing the practice exam and/or study guide in quantities of 30 or more. The reduced costs are $24.95 each for the study guide and $17.50 each for the online practice exam.
The practice exam and study guide are available for purchase on NCBTMB's website, http://www.ncbtmb.org/, in the Hot Topics area.
