The cost of school or launching a practice may seem challenging.
This is why several massage organizations sponsor grants, giveaways and scholarships to support future massage therapists.

Massage Therapy Foundation Research GrantsThese grants of up to $30,000 are awarded to support research studies investigating the health benefits of massage therapy. To apply, a researcher must have relevant experience in the chosen area of research, and be associated with a qualified sponsoring organization, such as a university.
Massage Therapy Foundation Community Service GrantsIntended to promote partnerships between massage professionals and the community, these grants of up to $5,000 are given to organizations providing massage to people who would otherwise have limited or no access to it. Eligible organizations will have been in existence at least one year; be tax-exempt; provide service to the community; and have a qualified staff member in charge of the program.
Successful Hands Grant ProgramSponsored by Biofreeze, Massage Envy and Bon Vital', this program was established in 2014 to help students prepare for a career in massage therapy. Applicants must be currently enrolled in massage therapy school and submit a 200-word essay. Five grants of $1,000 each will be awarded in 2018.
Incorporate MassageThis $2,000 scholarship is awarded to a student currently enrolled in a 500-plus hour accredited massage program in the U.S. The application requires a 2,000-word essay on one of three pre-selected topics. The scholarship is not renewable and is only good for a one-semester cycle.
International Spa Association Foundation Mary Tabacchi ScholarshipThis $5,000 scholarship is awarded annually to a junior, senior or graduate student enrolled full-time in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program related to the spa industry, and pursuing a career related to spa management. The award includes free registration, along with travel stipend and hotel accommodations, for the ISPA Conference & Expo; a one-year ISPA student membership; and a one-year mentorship.
